For those that were unable to join us this past Friday, the 23rd; we sat down for a great webinar conference call hosted by HIMSS.
During this call, we discussed a variety of experiences related to using technology and patient portals within the practice and hospital setting to increase patient engagement and enhance patient education. The follow questions were touched upon:
1. What are you doing to encourage patients to enroll in your portal and become more engaged in online communication with your organization, both to improve patient experience and push towards Meaningful Use attestation?
2. What challenges have you faced in driving patients to take advantage of online/electronic communications, as well as, facilitating patients viewing, transmitting, downloading their information?
3. Many organizations look to their software vendors and suppliers for resources and assistance with attesting to Meaningful Use and ACO performance measures. Do your current vendors offer assistance in driving online patient engagement? If so, what kind of assistance do they offer to you?
4. Have you noticed a marked improvement or upward trend in patient satisfaction as more patients begin to engage online with your organization?
